SIXTY PLUS

A class suitable for those suffering with, or wanting to help prevent osteoporosis and arthritis. A gentle class concentrating on core stability, flexibility, weight bearing work and balance.

Our later in life class can be modified to just include seated and standing exercises if needed.

Who is this class for?

Sixty Plus: For those above the age of 60 who want to achieve the most out of their bodies. For those suffering with osteoporosis / arthritis. Our oldest student is 87!

In the words of Joseph Pilates ‘You’re only as young as your spine’.

What can the Kendra 60+ class offer me?

The focus is on gentle mobility for all of the joints to maintain and improve flexibility. Weight bearing activity is key in maintaining strong, healthy bones and joints, alongside core stability and balance work.

Rachael, Ruth, Tom and Helen have seen a remarkable improvement in the strength, flexibility, balance and confidence of their 60+ and Later in life students. The classes are great fun and very rewarding!

1 in 3 women and 1 in 12 men over the age of 50 are affected by low bone density. With many Pilates clients falling into the 50 years plus age bracket, this is a condition that we need to consider when designing Pilates programmes for this sector.

“After my first session back with Ruth I felt 10 years younger and full of hope after a long absence.”
- Anita age 76
